It’s a classic option but it’s a classic for a reason. With all types of movies to suit all types of people, it’s easy to find something to fit a date in any stage of the relationship. To make it even more interesting though Melbourne has such a great selection of interesting Cinemas to choose from with food and drink options and great atmospheres, places like Cinema Nova in Carlton, Westgarth Cinema Northcote and the Astor in St Kilda. If it’s summer there is always the ever-delightful Moonlight Cinema in the Botanic Gardens or Lido’s Rooftop Cinema in Hawthorn.

We love an escape room and what a great date they can make! Spend 50 minutes to an hour with just you and your date finding the solution to some great problem and (hopefully) gaining the thrill of victory! There are so many great options in Melbourne no matter what type of room you are looking for. From some super scary rooms like Its Nightmare or hackSAW at Rush to classic escapes like Gaol Break at Adventure Rooms Melbourne. Our favourite option though would have to be Trapt Bar & Escape Rooms not only do we have a great selection of rooms such as The Wayward Wizard, Under the Big Top and Cave In but they also have a fully stocked cocktail bar with cocktails themed to the rooms to help calm the pre-date jitters and celebrate your victories!
Dinner
Does it get any more classic than taking your date out to dinner? Melbourne is the food capital of Australia and has an amazing collection of restaurants from affordable Chinese restaurants in Chinatown to much more extravagant options such as Vue de Monde or something more intimate like Bistrot D’Orsay. There is something for every date in every stage of the relationship from the first time you have dinner together to the moment you propose.
Mini Golf
Super fun and super simple, something that you don’t need to be good at to enjoy. Years ago it was the game you only played on the beachside family holiday when you were sick of the sand but it has recently taken off again with some super fun adult venues such as Holey Moley and Glowgolf popping up for your romantic evening needs.
Walk along the Yarra
If you’re looking for a budget date idea you could do a lot worse than a stroll on a spring day down the banks of the mighty Yarra.
